eggs.gif - 35039 BytesFertilized eggs are called Eyed-Eggs. These eggs need lots of oxygen and clean cold water to incubate. The normal incubation period is about 50 days. These eggs are left on their own to survive. alevin.gif - 10431 BytesNew born salmon with their egg sacks intact are called Alevin. These small fish are very susceptible to predators and environmental hazards.
